Products Made from Recycled Materials

We have created this section to highlight products that are either made from more sustainable materials or recycled materials which are less harmful to the environment. Some of our forward-thinking suppliers like Vango, Voltaic Systems, Pacsafe etc. took the initiative to try to reduce their environmental footprint and manufacture their products from PET plastic over 10 years ago and these have been part of the FL range from the start.

As long-term members of Green Peace and Friends of the Earth, where possible, we have always tried to get behind products that have less impact on the environment. From our experience, we have learnt that the quality and durability of recycled materials isn’t a compromise, and they perform just as well, if not better than products made from virgin materials.

‘PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate) offers a number of advantages - it takes less energy to manufacture than alternatives, it’s also extremely light, strong and durable.

Almost uniquely among plastics, PET is near-infinitely recyclable and because it can be made into new products, this lowers the need for fresh PET to be made, further reducing emissions. In fact, recycled PET products show a drop of up to 90% in CO2 emissions compared with virgin PET.’
