Groundsheets & Carpets

A footprint is a secondary groundsheet that helps to protect the awnings sewn-in groundsheet form sharp stones, thorns etc. An awning footprint in combination with a sewn in ground sheet will provide full waterproofing under foot and keep the main groundsheet mud and dirt free.

Whether we’re displaying awnings at a Vdub festival or on a regular camping trip, we always use a footprint with our awnings for all the above reasons and for faster pack-down… no having to turn the awning over with the underside of the groundsheet in the sun to dry out before packing away.

Drive-away awning carpets have a soft fleece finish, an insulated middle layer and an EVA anti-slip base. A carpet will instantly add warmth, insulation and comfort to an awning creating a homely feel... just like your VW camper.

Awning carpets by Vango, Outdoor Revolution and Kampa are lightweight and pack down very small into their own zipped storage bag so are easy to stow in a VW Transporter.  Dirt easily brushes off this style of carpet and should they ever need it, they are also machine washable.
